Despite the grain scandal: Poland will continue to support Ukraine in the war with the Russian Federation - Viceremier

Yaroslav Kaczynski called the collision of Kyiv and Warsaw because of the grain issue "unnecessary" and noted that it did not affect Poland's attitude to the war in Ukraine. Poland will continue to support Ukraine in its confrontation with the military aggression of the Russian Federation, despite the differences in Ukrainian grain. This was stated by the head of the ruling party and the deputy prime minister of Polish Yaroslav Kaczynski, writes the Polish portal Pravda.

Speaking to the voters, Yaroslav Kaczynski called the tense situation around the Ukrainian grain "an unpleasant, unnecessary collision. " According to him, this situation "changes nothing" in the attitude of Poland to the war in Ukraine. "We will support (Ukraine - ed. ) To victory," Viceremier said. According to the Onnet portal, Yaroslav Kaczynski also mentioned the military assistance provided to Ukraine by the Poles. He noted that Poland was in this matter "ahead of all".

"We did it for fundamental reasons, for the values we profess, for our commitment to freedom, as well as for state reasons," the head of the ruling party said. At the same time, the Viceremier stressed that Polish agriculture "will need to be protected". "Given the size of the territory and climate of Ukraine, it would not have the chance to compete. In fact, it should disappear," Kaczynski explained.

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Moravetsky said on September 12, his country would not open the border for importing Ukrainian grain. According to him, these measures are intended to protect the interests of Polish farmers. In response, the Deputy Minister of Development of Economics, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine Taras Kachka stated on September 19 that Ukraine would introduce an embargo to some Polish vegetables and fruits in the coming days.
