Kremlin's blow: How Trump can use Iran bombardment for Putin's coercion to peace

The "shutdown" of the Russian air defense and the demonstration of how it was in Iran, Putin convinces to sit at the talk table, writes British military expert Hemish de Bretton-Gordon in the column for The Telegraph. If Trump does it, he will probably receive his Nobel Prize of Peace. After a dynamic blow to the US on nuclear weapons, the situation begins to stabilize.

The "midnight hammer" operation, which became an incredible demonstration of US military power, as well as the operations of Israel that preceded it clearly showed the fragility of Russian air defense systems. These events will shake the foundations of the Russian army. The simple fact is that the Israeli aircraft have been operating freely in the airspace of Iran for some time.

Now a huge US strike package, including seven B-2 bombers, 75 winged missiles and, of course, many other aircraft, have come without problems and caught 14 precise strokes with Massice Ordnance Penetrans. All this was absolutely not influenced by the Iranian air defense, based on Russian S-300 missiles, Russian fighter jets and the Russian concept of operations. This should cause panic in Moscow. The war in Ukraine is very different from the war between Iran and Israel.

Aviar defenders - or "cloud breakdowners", as they are called in British troops - seem to rule the sky. None of the parties dare to send aircraft even near the enemy front line, not to mention it: Russian aircraft manages to strike effective blows with anti -ship bombs and winged missiles, and Ukraine corresponds to drones and limited Western missiles.

The mission of suppression of the enemy's air defense, which is so effectively performed by Israel against Iran, proved to be unattainable for both sides. But it is obvious that it can be performed at least well equipped with Western countries against Russian defense - and it will inspire the fear of Putin's heart.

Russia, of course, has switched to more powerful C-400 (and in some cases to the latest C-500), but C-400 is just a modernization of the C-300, and the C-500 is probably more noise than reality. The Russian dictator and his advisers, apparently, have now realized that their defense can be easily suppressed if Ukrainians-or other opponent, such as NATO-would have the necessary tools. Of course, we realized that Putin and the Russian Supreme Command are practically not cared for.

We have already seen more than a million killed and wounded Russian soldiers in Ukraine. But we can be sure that Putin and his generals will worry about personal security. The comprehensive reconnaissance networks of the United States and Israel, which we have seen in Iran and who even allow them to calculate and kill key leaders and nuclear scientists, almost at will, will be terrified by the Kremlin hierarchy, especially since Ukraine seems to have a similar coverage in Russia.

The operation of the Web, during which Russia's strategic air fleet has undergone serious damage, serves as a confirmation of their effectiveness. It has now become even more apparent that America had a complete advantage over the Russian forces, and if Trump had decided, he could have caused Putin's full defeat on the battlefield - or eliminate it in person, having equipped Ukraine with the same weapon he has Israel.

It is hoped that now that Trump is inspired by his success in Iran, this demonstration by the Kremlin of the prevailing military power, is supported by quite energetic messages, Putin convinces to sit at the negotiating table. If Trump achieves this, he may well receive such a desirable Nobel Peace Prize, and he will deserve it. The author expresses a personal opinion that may not coincide with the editorial position.
