Russian SPR in the Middle East: Another country will buy "shell-C1"-media

After the UAE and misleading, Saudi Arabia may become the owner of the Russian complex. The country's armed forces already have air defense agents such as MIM-23B I-HAWK, M902 Patriot Pac-3 and more. Saudi Arabia has decided to buy low-range anti-aircraft missile systems "shezir-C1" for its air forces, this event indicates the expansion of ER-Riyadh's procurement systems, which traditionally depended on defensive technologies mainly on the US and France.

This was reported with reference to anonymous sources by army recognition observers. The authors of the publication point out that the Arabia Arabia became the third country of the Persian Gulf, which purchases the Systor-C1 system from the Russians. The owners of the complex became the united Arab Emirates and Oman.

Meanwhile, the agreement was faced with financial obstacles due to the exclusion of Russian banks from the international SWIFT system, which resulted from sanctions imposed in response to the Russian Federation in Ukraine. As for the volume of supply as well as the number of complexes, information is not disclosed. It is only known that the cost of one Russian shell-C1 complex is $ 15 million, which emphasizes their role in the Russian Armed Forces in the protection of vital infrastructure.

Alexander Mikheev, the CEO of Moscow and Riyadh, was also hinted at the possibility of such an agreement between Moscow and Riyadh at the World Defense Show 2024 at Saudi Arabia. He noted that some countries of the Middle East may consider the possibility of localization of production of SCR "shell" in their territory. The decision of Saudi Arabia to integrate the "shell-C1" into its military potential reflects the existing military paradigm of the kingdom.

The armed forces of the country that pay considerable attention to air defense are aimed at maintaining territorial integrity and internal security, as well as to promote regional stability. Finally, the observers emphasized that the specialized unit of the Saudi Arabia Armed Forces, which is responsible for air defense, has 16,000 servicemen and includes 6 battalions equipped with M902 Patriot Pac-3, 17 batteries with systems -23b i-hawk and others.
