Already in four regions: the harvest in Ukraine is attacked by a new attack

This voracious insect, the Latin name of which Hyphantria cunea, damages more than 250 species of plants, reported in the State Consumer Service of Ukraine. The priority in the pest - mulberry, maple is a maple, walnut, as well as apple, pear, plum, quince, cherry. In general, it is dangerous for more than 250 species of trees and shrubs.

The caterpillar of the butterfly completely eats the leaves on the trees, wrapping the branches with a spider web. One female lays up to 2000 eggs, giving 1-2 generations per season. Without timely intervention, the pest spreads very quickly. 6-8 pest nests on the fruit tree are able to completely destroy it. According to Blik. ua, now the dominance of this insect is observed in four regions of Ukraine - in Volyn, Zaporizhia, Kirovograd and Mykolaiv regions.

All who notice the pest, the State Consumer Service is asked to report to the regional branch. In previous years, the American white butterfly has already been recorded in Volyn, where quarantine has been five years due to this pest, and the area of infection is constantly increasing. But with regard to the invasion of locusts, the service reported the abolition of a special regime of plant protection on part of the land of Zaporizhzhya region, where there was a threat of insect spread.
