US successfully tested Patriot SCR with a new radar to counteract Russian rockets
These tests confirmed the high efficiency of the system and its readiness to deploy to counteract Russian rockets. This was reported by Army Recognition Operators. Ltamds is a revolutionary radar system with an active electron scan (AESA) that provides a 360-degree coating. It is designed to replace outdated An/MPQ-53/65 Patriot system, greatly expanding the ability to detect and track various threats, including ballistic, winged and hypersonic missiles, as well as drones.
The use of Galium nitride technology (GAN) made it possible to increase the power and range of radar, retaining energy efficiency. It is noted that during the tests, Ltamds demonstrated the ability to effectively identify targets at long distances and transmit data to guide PAC-3 interceptors. PAC-3 interceptors, including their upgraded PAC-3 MSE version, equipped with "Hit-To-Kill) technology, which allows to destroy targets by transferring kinetic energy.
PAC-3 MSE has improved aerodynamic characteristics and a two-pulse missile engine that provides interception of ballistic missiles such as Iskander-M at altitudes up to 30 km. LTAMDS and PAC-3 technological capabilities provide reliable protection against a wide range of threats. For example, to neutralize cruise missiles, such as "caliber", Ltamds uses its all -directional radar coating, tracking low -exvisiac and maneuverable goals.
The system is also effective against hypersonic missiles, such as "dagger" that move at high speed and complex trajectory. The combination of Radar Ltamds and PAC-3 interceptors is a significant achievement in the air defense and about, analysts emphasized. These systems operate in a single integrated combat management network (IBCS), which allows you to respond quickly to complex air and rocket threats.
