Escaping abroad during the war will become a crime: the government has transferred the bill to the Council

To extend: The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a bill No. 13673, which provides for criminal liability for illegal departure from the country during martial law or state of emergency. The document also contains amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine. According to the document, the illegal intersection of the state border during martial law or state of emergency beyond checkpoints will be considered a crime.

Criminal liability is also proposed to be established for obstruction of the border infrastructure. According to Taras Melnychuk, a representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, responsibility for conscripts, reservists and conscripts who violate the permitted time limits outside Ukraine. For this category of citizens, the obligation to comply with the specified departure deadlines is introduced.
