Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station: Ukrhydroenergo is preparing a lawsuit for € 2.5 billion

The undermining of hydroelectric power plants deprived Ukraine of 35% of fresh water, as well as the ability to provide four regions and Crimea with water. Many law companies have agreed to defend the Ukrainian side in the trial. The State Company "Ukrhydroenergo" is preparing a lawsuit against Russia for € 2. 5 billion for losses as a result of the blasting of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. The CEO of the company Igor Sirota told this in an interview with Deutsche Welle.

The amount was formed after calculations of losses of the station itself and all profits. Russia has already sent a message, a claim for payment. If the losses are not damaged in six months, Ukrhydroenergo will sue the International Arbitration Court. According to the orphan, Moscow was informed through European friends. The Office, the President, the Foreign Ministry, and all the structures that have to receive the claim have read it.

The CEO is convinced of the need to restore the Kakhovka reservoir, the largest in the Dnieper cascade. Ukraine has lost 35% of fresh water, without this facility will not be able to provide four regions and Crimea with water. In addition, navigation, capabilities to fill the reservoir and cooler ponds for the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant were lost. The wells of the wells will also lead to the salinization of soil, says the orphan.

According to him, many law companies are ready to defend Ukraine in the trial. In parallel, the management tries to attract investments from international donors to restore the Kakhovskaya station. We will remind, in September 2022 Ukraine learned about the plans of the Russian Federation to undermine Kakhovsk hydroelectric power station. Then no one thought that the station would be completely destroyed.
