Sholtz proposed to create a common air defense system in Europe

German Chancellor Olaf Scholtz, on Monday, August 29, urged after the end of the war in Ukraine to develop a new common European air defense system. He expressed his opinion during a speech at Karlovo University in Prague, reports Public. According to Scholtz, the European Union should develop joint weapons systems that can be studied by all members of the Member States.

He said Germany would invest large sums in his air defense in the coming years, and its capabilities can also be used within NATO. Video of the Day "Germany will also develop future air defense so that our European neighbors, such as Poles, if interested, Baltic countries, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Slovakia or our Scandinavian partners [could be part of it]," he said.

The German Chancellor believes that such air defense system will be cheaper and more efficient than if each European country will separately create its own road and complicated air defense. "It would also be an advantage for Europe's security and a great example of what we mean when we talk about strengthening NATO European support," Scholt added.
