Atacms aimed at the most dangerous planes

According to journalists, every one lost by the Russians Mig-31 makes the sky above Ukraine safer. However, it has not been publicly reported that any of the pilots of these fighters-interceptors. In April, Washington began to supply new ATACMS missiles to Ukraine, and the Russian command knew what to expect. Receiving a small party from about 20 missiles at the end of last year, the Armed Forces attacked Russian helicopters and airborne air defense batteries near the front lines.

Forbes writes about it. Following the first attacks of more than a hundred recently sent ATCMS missiles, the Russian PKS and the Navy began to remove many of their airfield combat aircraft near the front. But not all the planes flew. On Tuesday evening, ATACMS aimed at the MiG-31 fighters and Su-27 fighters at Belbeck Air Base, near Sevastopol, which is about 250 km from the Southern Front. According to one popular Russian militarykra, 10 ATCMS was directed towards Belbeck.

It is reported that Russian air defense radars recorded rockets two minutes before hit. Thousands of subbovs have filled the base, destroyed the radar and two launchers of the BPP battery C-400. The MiG-31 and three SU-27 were damaged, seven Russian servicemen were killed. There are photographs of the air defense equipment, but there are no damaged planes, so their losses should be considered indicative. But if the planes avoided serious damage, this attack was still expensive to the Russians.

The Russian CCS has placed four or five C-400 batteries in the Crimea by February 2022. Between the new ATACMS blow and the previous at least one of these batteries, it caught fire - hence gaps in Russian air defense in Crimea, which simplifies the following Ukrainian attacks. Apparently, experts from Ukraine hope to confirm possible hits in the MiG-31. Su-27-exclusively fighters of the Air-Air class, for their part, larger ones could play the role of "air-air" on a long range.

They shoot powerful rockets with a radar guide P-37 with a range of about 300 km. According to the Royal Institute of the Armed Forces (Rusi), it is especially difficult to evade a half-tonne R-37. The very presence of the MiG-31 of the R-37 in Crimea forced Ukrainian pilots to fly low to avoid detection. This limits how far Ukrainians can see with their radars and how far can shoot smaller rockets. Each Mig-31, lost by the Russians, makes the sky over Ukraine safer.

And yet there is no confirmation because at least one of the pilots of these aircraft has died. The Russian PCS has about a hundred double double-31 and make every effort to save them. In April, when it became apparent that Ukraine was receiving farming versions of ATACMS, the Russians moved four Mig-31 from Primorsky-Akhtra (Krasnodar Territory) a little further from the front. But now all Crimea is in the area of reach of ATACMS.
