Reply to Embraer 190: Azerbaijan restricted the stay of Russian citizens and flights to a number of cities
According to a resolution, citizens and stateless persons who reside in Russia and arrive in Azerbaijan in a visa -free manner cannot stay in the country for more than 90 days during one calendar year. This resolution was signed by Azerbaijan Prime Minister Ali Asadov. Citizens of Russia can now be in Azerbaijan up to 90 days after each entrance, withdrawing the term of departure and return.
From the new year, they will lose this opportunity in addition, the State Airlines Azerbaijan Airlines (Azal) stops flights to ten Russian cities: mineral waters, Sochi, Volgograd, Ufa, Samara, Saratov, Nizhny Novgorod, Vladikavkala, Terrible and Makhachka. Initially, the carrier wanted to stop flights to seven cities, but later expanded the list.
The stiffness of these rules occurs against the backdrop of the Embraer aircraft on December 190, which was flying on the route "Baku-Grozny" and crashed in the Kazakh city of Aktau. The aircraft could fall due to the explosion of the anti-aircraft missile of the Air Defense Complex "Arctic-C1", which the Russians reflected the attack of drones on the Grozny Airport.
