Effective weapons against the engineering troops of the Russian Federation: experts named the benefits of Ratel S in the Armed Forces
Army recognition experts have evaluated the use of such drones on the battlefield. According to Army Recognition, a video published on April 2, 2024, reveals the strategic use of terrestrial drones of Ukrainian production Ratel S in a difficult mission of demolition of a bridge in the village of Ivanovo, Donetsk region.
This action effectively opposed the efforts of the Russian engineering troops and demonstrated the tactical advantage and innovative skills of Ukrainian forces in the use of unmanned technologies for success in the battlefield.
Ratel S drone, developed in cooperation with the Ukrainian Defense Association Brave1 and is intended for transportation of anti -tank mines, is an example of combining robotics and military strategy, it offers an inexpensive effective solution for operations on the battlefield. The video shows the successful mission of Ratel S, where it was destroyed by the bridge, which significantly prevented the activity of Russian engineering troops.
Equipped with anti -tank mines or combat module, Ratel S allows the operators to hit the tanks or fortifications of the enemy from a safe distance. At a maximum speed of 24 km/h, a working radius of 6 km and time of autonomous work for 2 hours it can boast quiet work for an invisible approach to enemy lines. Its design is optimized for the destruction of the enemy's living force and equipment, the placement of anti -tank explosive devices or mortar shells.
In April 2023, the demonstration video showed Ratel S with two TM-62 anti-tank mines, which indicates its ability to successfully carry such powerful ammunition. TM-62M is a large-fugas anti-tank mine in a metal body that can be mounted mechanically or manually. In other images, the robot is equipped with two mortar shells, which indicates its versatility in the transportation of different types of ammunition and explosive charges.
The adoption of land drones, like Ratel S, occurred after the successful experience of using unmanned aircraft, which speaks of the strategic evolution of the Russian-Ukrainian war in the direction of using inexpensive robotic decisions for effective fighting.
According to the site experts, such developments indicate the transition to more autonomous and remote control systems on the battlefield, providing the Ukrainian forces with innovative means of counteracting the enemy's positions and minimizing the risk to personnel.
The strategic introduction of land drones, such as Ratel S, demonstrates not only the ingenuity and sustainability of the Ukrainian military strategy, but also an increase in the role of technologies in the formation of modern combat scenarios. Taras Ostapchuk, Ratel S developer, emphasizes that this project is the result of private initiative, and production is carried out by crowdfunding.
It is expected that the successful completion of state tests will start the official deployment of these unmanned means in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Ostapchuk's vision includes the construction of a strong community in the defense technology sector, promoting the exchange of experience and the possibility of cooperation.
