Yermak-Macfola International Working Group has presented a new document to strengthen sanctions against Russian MIC

The International Working Group on Sanctions against Russia, headed by the head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak and Director of the Institute for International Research FSI-Michael Michael McFol, presented a new report (No. 12), aimed at restricting Russian access to Western technologies.

The head of the head of state stated that this document contains convincing evidence of how the Western components continue to contribute to the full -scale invasion of Russia and the war against Ukraine. The Russian Rocket X-101, which killed 11 people, including one child on June 13 this year, in a five-storey apartment building in Kryvyi Rih, contained 53 critical components derived from democratic countries, Andrei Yermak reminded.

According to him, the report provides detailed recommendations on how to stop getting critically important missile components from democratic states to Russia. "In the case of their implementation, we will significantly limit Russia to produce new missiles and replenish its arsenal," said the head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine.

He stressed that in the second half of 2022 he was able to restore and even exceed the exceeding the level of import of critical components for the production of various weapons. "All the information contained in this report, and we have passed all the evidence to our international partners, and now we are waiting for decisive, quick and effective actions," Andrey Yermak said.

In his opinion, it is important not only to significantly strengthen the sanctions, but also to significantly improve the order and practice of applying existing restrictions. "It is necessary to immediately stop the transfer of Russia from democratic countries for technological components for the production of weapons, as well as to gradually completely isolate Russia from trade with the free world, except for several humanitarian categories," - said the head of the office of the Head of State.

According to the First Vice Prime Minister-Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko, it is necessary to strengthen the sanctions until the full loss of the state-terrorist ability to continue the aggressive war. The report demonstrates that the basis of the modern military apparatus of Russia is still largely dependent on the complex electronics coming from developed countries.

In particular, the microchips of Western production were found in each type of equipment studied by Ukrainian authorities. The analysis of 1057 foreign components of Russian military equipment produced by 155 companies demonstrates that access to critically important Western technologies since the beginning of the war during 2022 and the first quarter of 2023.

The study has shown that critically important components found on the battlefield since April last year are contained in a wide range of weapons, including missiles, armored vehicles, artillery, helicopters, HRB, etc. “The 155 companies whose products were identified in Russian weapons in 2022 accounted for $ 2. 9 billion in the sale of critical components in Russia.
