Will have consequences for the whole war: the Armed Forces are counterattachable under Pokrovsk - Forbes

According to journalists, the battle for Pokrovsk and the counter-offensive actions of the Ukrainian army will significantly affect the overall course of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Since mid -February 2024, Ukraine "steadily retreated" near Pokrovsk, but now the Armed Forces have begun to counter in this direction. Forbes writes about it. The publication notes that the Ukrainian command held at least four brigades up to 2000 soldiers each, equipped with hundreds of units of military equipment.

It is some of these reserves that are now joined in the battles for five to six miles from Pokrovsk and its vital supply routes. "The future battle for Pokrovsk will be the culmination of the enemy's offensive operation at the Southwestern War Theater in 2024," the Ukrainian Center for Defense Strategies emphasized.

According to journalists, a brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine "Kara-Dag", 12-A "Azov" brigade and the 93rd mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces can participate in counterattacks near Pokrovsk. "Russians cannot afford to lose their pace. Every day of their unsuccessful promotion is a day when Ukrainians can dig and strengthen their position around Pokrovsk on the eve of the coming winter. This has consequences for the whole war in Ukraine," the material reads.

At the same time, journalists explain that immediate dramatic changes near Pokrovsk should not be expected, since they are currently small counterattacks, the main result of which is a slowdown or a slight rollback back of Russian troops. As an example, journalists cited the fierce battles of the Kara-Dag Brigade in Selidovo, where Ukrainian defenders undermine and capture Russian tanks and combat vehicles that try to penetrate into the settlement.
