"Get ready for war for decades": NATO Secretary General called allies to be armed faster

Enterprises of the Alliance Armed Industry must receive a state order and accelerate shells and military equipment, Jens Stoltenberg said. Russia has re -aligned its economy for a war that can last for decades. Instead, in the North Atlantic Alliance, armed enterprises are still operating in peacetime. How to act allies in the conditions of a long military conflict with the Kremlin, explained NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in an interview with the German edition of Welt.

According to Stoltenberg, NATO countries need to prepare for a long war. He also explained how the Russian Federation will work if Ukraine wins. In his opinion, in this case, the Russians can also attack a member of the North Atlantic Alliance. "We need to prepare for a confrontation that can last for decades. If Putin wins in Ukraine, there is no guarantee that Russian aggression will not spread to other countries," the officials of the official have given.

The best investment for today is to strengthen assistance to Ukraine, for which you need to invest the most money in weapons. In peaceful times, it was possible to engage in the release of weapons slowly, the head of NATO said, but now you need to act faster. "This means the transition from slow production in peacetime to fast, as is necessary during the conflict.

" At the same time, the industry, having received orders from government officials, should produce weapons for both Ukraine and their own arsenals. "We need to restore and expand our industrial base sooner so that we can increase deliveries to Ukraine and replenish our own stocks," Stoltenberg summed up. It should be noted that after the start of the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war in February 2022, NATO received an application from Ukraine for admission.

The Vilnius Summit, which took place in the summer of 2023, did not take place, instead proposed a number of safety agreements. In January 2024, Prime Minister of Great Britain Risha Sunak arrived in Kiev, who really concluded a security agreement: the text of the document referred to continuing the supply of weapons and intelligence data.

Meanwhile, in January 2024, NATO launched large -scale military exercises in Europe, which will participate in 90,000 soldiers, as well as aviation, ships, armored vehicles. The main purpose of the exercises is to check whether the forces of allies from the Baltic, Poland, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the like are able to act.
