Sea supplies of weapons from the DPRK to the Russian Federation stopped from mid -February - isw
It was reported that Russian ships that are involved in the Sea of North Korean ammunition and weapons have not entered the port of North Korea "Rason" since February 12. Since August 2023, Russian ships have made at least 32 flights between "Racton" and Russian ports "Danube" and "East" in the Primorsky Territory.
According to NK Pro, the Russian freight ship Lady R has transported an indefinite number of transport containers, which are likely to contain ammunition and weapons, from January 30 to February 8. Maya-1 freight ship arrived in the Russian port "East" from North Korea on February 12. According to satellite images, from February 12, Russian ships to the port "Rason" were not at all. The pause is expected to be associated with production difficulties in North Korea or logistical problems.
At the same time, journalists note, North Korea can also transport weapons to Russia with air or rail. Earlier, ISW researchers reported that Russia was using Baikalo-Amur and East Siberian railways to simplify the transportation of goods from China and North Korea and back. The Russian Federation is increasingly relying on economic and military support for these countries.
South Korea's Defense Minister Sin Jon Jesi said on February 26 that North Korea had sent about 6700 ammunition transport containers to Russia in recent months. According to the minister, they can have more than three million ammunition of 152mm caliber or about 500 thousand 122 mm. It should be reminded that, according to the US State Department, the DPRK has put 10,000 weapons containers in Russia. It was also reported that financial restrictions should stop Russian aggression.
