Pressure on Russia gives results only when there is the maximum unity of the world - Volodymyr Zelenskyy during communication with the students of the Netherlands

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is convinced that the effectiveness of any pressure on the aggressor state-the Russian Federation depends primarily on the level of unity of the countries of the world, and Ukraine will continue to work hard on its strengthening. The Head of State stated this during an online meeting with the university community of the Netherlands. The event was joined by students of Leiden University, Amsterdam University and Hague University of Applied Sciences.

“I think we have managed to unite the world around Ukraine. Netherlands, Europe, USA, other countries. Many countries, by the way, Latin America. They have been united around Ukraine since the beginning of the war. In the early days, everyone seemed to be united, but we succeeded. This indicates that it is realistic to unite the world, ”he said. Volodymyr Zelenskyy is convinced that the UN could be the best platform for the unification of the world, but this is not happening at this time.

“The world is united in the UN, but in some solutions it does not unite. Both the tribunal and the more powerful pressure on the Russian Federation. The world very often changes values ​​to economic relations, ”the President explained. As an example, the head of the Ukrainian state called the Black Sea grain initiative, which was implemented, in particular, thanks to the powerful work of the United Nations.

But when the UN weakened the pressure on Russia, the Russian Federation immediately came out of the corresponding arrangements. “The pressure is powerful when you have unity when it is the only organism. When the world is valid, it equally protects all values. Not in words, but really protects. And when in this unity is fragility, when, even if all united in the EU, someone suddenly bypasses sanctions, helps Russia . . .

Helps them with their own economic issues or for their cheap energy, populistly playing with their society , makes certain steps contrary to the general arrangements, the world weakens, ”Vladimir Zelensky said. The President recalled that Ukraine proposed the formula of peace on the basis of which he wants to unite the civilized world. “We will do everything we can. And I believe it can bring us a just peace, ”he is convinced.

The Head of State also expressed beliefs that unity and perseverance should give results in holding all those who are guilty of solving the war against Ukraine. Answering the question of what he sees the optimal format of a special international tribunal on the crime of aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky noted that it should be a tribunal, which would lead to a real fair sentence for all murderers and the leadership . “Nothing depends on the content.

The main thing is the result, and it is the most important. This is a difficult mission. To condemn for the primary crime-a crime of aggression, you need to have a unity again. We need it very much. But it is difficult for the leaders of different countries of the world to support the tribunal who will condemn the leader of another state. Even if she went against the freedom and people of another state, ”the President said.

Volodymyr Zelensky also believes that in terms of the security of Ukraine's accession to the European Union, it will be a fair solution and winning for all EU member countries, since there is no such powerful army as Ukrainian today in East of Europe today. “We have a powerful army that is ready to protect the common values ​​with the EU. And as Ukraine today protects the world and these values, it will continue to act, ”the Head of State emphasized.
