To spread: In the evening of August 11, drones of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine attacked the Orenburg Helium Plant - the only in Russia, helium production in Orenburg. The object is considered critical for the Russian military-industrial complex, as helium is used in rockets, in the space industry and the air industry. This was reported by Focus sources.

According to sources, drones could be observed by locals who reported a series of explosions in the plant. At about 8:00 pm, the local authorities blocked the section of the Federal highway M-5 "Ural" in the area of the settlements of Perevolotske and the cold keys where the enterprise is located. The attack of Ukrainian drones on the Russian region was confirmed by local authorities.

The temporary acting governor of the Orenburg region, Yevgen Solntsev, reported that thanks to the actions of the Air Defense forces of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation allegedly two drones were shot down. At the same time, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation said that three drones were destroyed in the region. The region has introduced a signal "Air alarm" and the "carpet" plan, which involves the suspension of airports. The danger of UAV attacks is stored.

The Orenburg helium plant processes about 15 billion cubic meters. M natural gas per year is one of the largest helium producers in Europe. According to the Ukrainian side, the company is directly involved in Russia's military campaign against Ukraine. Helium from the plant is used in rocket-space, nuclear, electronic, aviation industry, as well as in medicine and research. Thus, this enterprise is a vital element of the Russian industry and defense.
