Changing the nature of battles: how the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and why "gray zones" became more - Deepstate

To spread: in some sections of the front, a new tactic of Russian troops is recorded - small assault groups are trying to penetrate deep into Ukrainian defense, bypassing the line of collision. Such penetrations pose a threat to new areas and complicate the fixation of advancement on maps, which leads to an increase in "gray zones".

The enemy performs these actions without proper cover, with the calculation of suddenness, rapid masking and further strengthening of the group, write analysts of Deepstate, evaluating the situation at the front. As noted in the analytical review, such cases become regular: Russians try to gain a foothold in the so-called "gray zone", using any opportunity for hidden advancement.

However, most often, such groups remain in the rear for a short time - they are promptly detected by drone operators and eliminated with artillery or infantry. However, even unsuccessful penetration attempts are useful to the enemy. Yes, Ukrainian defenders are forced to redistribute limited resources to close potential vulnerable areas of defense. And a considerable number of fixed penetrations leads to the expansion of gray areas on the map, in particular near settlements and landings.

This is reflected in current cards updates: the uncertain control areas are becoming wider. "The problem is also a catastrophic shortage of people in defense that do not have time to close holes in positions, and which reveals the enemy to move these routes to the rear," Depepstate notes. Experts added that such cases cannot be interpreted as a full enemy promotion.
