Non -standard approach: Armed Forces Fighters use Swedish BMP CV90 as an Artsystem (Photo)

To spread: the Ukrainian military is increasingly used by Swedish fighting vehicles CV90 in a variety of roles - from the transportation of the landing and evacuation of the wounded to fire support from closed positions. The latter is especially interesting: despite the fact that CV90 was projected as a classic BMP, it is increasingly used by the Ukrainian army as a makeshift SAU.

The Ukrainian military uses Swedish CV90 not only for its intended purpose, but also in the role of self -propelled artillery units, reported in the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces. Commenting on the publication, Defense Express analysts note that this decision is related to the peculiarities of the current phase of the Russian-Ukrainian war. With the transition to the positional nature of hostilities, the logic of use of armored vehicles changes.

At the high density of drones, which reduces the time from detection to impact, even the wheel SAU is increasingly fire from pre -equipped hidden positions. This tactic reduces the risk of enemy fire or Dron Kamikadze. Experts also note that the BOFORS L/70 Caliber of 40 mm, installed on CV90, is capable of conducting not only direct fire on infantry or light -armed purposes, but also work as a means of indirect fire.

This makes it possible to strike the enemy's position from the shelter without being threatened. It should be noted that the BOFORS L/70 was initially projected as an anti -aircraft automatic gun, with a slope toward air firing above the purpose and low height. However, the gun was later integrated into the infantry fighting machine, and armor-piercing APFSDS-T and universal MP-T shells appeared in the arsenal of ammunition, which combine the trace and shrapnel effects with the highway.

In addition to high firing power, CV90 also provides good crew and landing protection, and its mobility makes it possible to quickly change positions, even in complex terrain. All this makes the car an extremely valuable asset on the front - especially in conditions when every shot from a distance can save life. Earlier it was reported that Sweden and Denmark will produce more than two hundred advanced CV90 armored vehicles, 40 of which are intended for Ukraine.
