The Belarus Army will receive new 122 mm shells with a range of 40 km for their RSZV

It is about supplying 15,000 jet ammunition made by local enterprises. But shells will be manually collected, so such volumes, experts say, are doubtful. The artillery units of the Armed Forces of Belarus will receive new jet shells to the BM-21 Grad RSSU, which have higher accuracy. At the same time, their declared shooting range reaches 40 kilometers.

This was reported by the Belaruski Gayun Monitoring Group in the publication that the Belarusian military spoke about the possibility of successfully fighting the opponent's artillery, but who is a 122mm ammunition supplier. Meanwhile, observers reminded that in December 2023, Goskomvoenprom, together with the country's Ministry of Defense, conducted successful tests of 122 mm of jet shells for RSSU "Grad", which were produced in Belarus.

"One way or another, large supplies should not be expected. After all, it was reported that in Belarus these ammunition will be collected manually - up to 15,000 per year. Obviously, this method of production has natural restrictions, while unknown and current production volumes of such ammunition," - observers write. The news of new jet ammunition for Belarusian RSSUs was also commented on Defense Express.

They noted that the stated production rate of 15 thousand shells a year raises doubts, since the formulation of "manually" implies not only the assembly but also the production of individual components of the shells. As for the starting installations themselves, according to Military Balance, there are 128 units of rocket launchers BM-21 "Grad" in the Belarusian army in the Belarusian army. In addition, in 2021 the country presented modernized installations - RSSU "Skall".
