Prepare mobilization from 18 years: Military analyst about annual contracts for young people (video)

During the USSR, 18-year-old boys received military training and believed that they were ready to participate in the war at that age, said military analyst Alexei Hetman. Ukraine is prepared for a decrease in the mobilization age up to 18 years, and this is evidenced by the idea of ​​annual contracts for young people for service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. People, in addition to salary and finished service life, will receive additional benefits.

Such things may seem unjust to other young fighters of defense forces. Alexei Hetman spoke about the issues that arose after the idea of ​​special contracts. Hetman noted that the proposal of special contracts for service in the Armed Forces for young people is an attempt to prepare society for reducing the age of mobilization. Society reacted negatively to previous statements about the conscription of young men.

In addition, the set of volunteers has not increased after the increase of monetary encouragement. According to the expert, special contracts bring Ukrainians closer to new decisions to replenish the army, which requires the event. "This is my subjective point of view that we will have a mobilization from the age of 18. It would simply have a very negative reaction within society, so such an intermediate option," he said.

In addition, the interlocutor of journalists drew attention to two more problems. The first problem is the injustice of volunteers, who are 25-30 years old and who have been in the war for the third year in a row without the right to demobilization. The second is a five-seven-year gap between the age of the conscript service, which was previously taken from the age of 18 and the age of mobilization-25 years.

At the same time, the hetman remembered the times of the USSR, when 18 years meant both conscript service and the opportunity to participate in hostilities. "Why a person from the age of 18 can serve in the army, and a person has studied, prepared for fighting, and he can fight only seven years after. That is, he is ready to learn and fight, and he is not ready to fight for another five years. It looks a little strange, " - said on the air of the channel.

It should be noted that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced on February 7, that for young people from 18 to 24 years, special conditions for mobilization in the Armed Forces are prepared. It's about annual contracts and a number of benefits. Among them-a mortgage for 0%, accession to any university, salary of UAH 1 million a year. The President's proposal was heard half a year after the US government officials talked to a decrease in mobilization age.

Meanwhile, the reaction of the Ukrainian serviceman Alexander Matyash appeared on the air "News. Live". He noted that the new conditions in the contracts of young men 18-24 years is unfair to other fighters who went to volunteers before and did not receive such "preferential conditions". The military gave an example of a brother who went to the war at the age of 19, had "migrated mud" for three years and did not receive "no privileges and millions" for it.
