President: Air Terror is Putin's last course, we have to stop it
The head of state stressed that Ukrainian soldiers were holding down another wave of Russian attacks in Sumy and Donetsk region. Although in the summer, Russia assured the United States and other countries that, by October-November, its troops will be captured by the whole Donbas, now Ukrainian defenders are moving forward. This was made possible, in particular, by increasing its own weapon production. More than 40 % of weapons at the front are manufactured in Ukraine.
“To hide its failures on Earth, Russia has launched a new wave of air terror against Ukraine - against our cities and civilian infrastructure. Their main target is our energy. Every day, Russian missiles and drones beat power plants and transmission lines. It is a cruel attack on a normal life. And it is dangerous, ”Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized. The President noted that to protect against Russian attacks, air defense systems and missiles need them.
According to the Head of State, Ukraine produces drones-interceptors for "Shahaned", there are mobile shock groups and planes, but the Russians cause combined blows with the use of a large number of winged and ballistic missiles. “Putin hopes to use this terror on the eve of winter to break our resistance. We have to prevent that. Therefore, I urge you to defend in your parliaments and governments the need to supply stronger air defense systems and the missiles we need.
And the solution is needed in the coming weeks - both about systems and missiles, ”Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized. The head of state noted that he had talked to US President Donald Trump twice, including Patriot systems, Tomahawk missiles, energy equipment and the need to refuse partners to buy Russian oil. It was also about Purl's initiative, which helps Ukraine buy US weapons, among other things, a Patriot rocket.
“It is important that the promised contributions come and use quickly, because they save lives. Some funds have not yet been received. And we hope that other members of the Alliance will join Purl. This will help. Air terror is Putin's last course. We have to stop it. To prevent him from victories on earth and in heaven. Then real diplomacy will become possible, ”the President said. Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that now the war in the Middle East is finally ends - after so many victims.
At the same time, the greatest source of global instability is Russia's war in Europe. “And all of you depends on whether this war will end too. Putin can be forced to peace-just like any other terrorist, ”the Head of State emphasized. In addition, the President called for strengthening sanctions against Russia that restrict its military machine and press on those who continue to supply critical components for Russian drones and missiles.
