Volodymyr Zelenskyy: It is necessary to strengthen the protection of Ukrainian cities and ports with the help of new modern air defense systems

Ukraine needs more modern air defense systems to protect its cities, which houses strategically important infrastructure, including that provides agricultural exports to the world market. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a meeting with media representatives after negotiations with Ireland Prime Minister Leo Varadkar in Kiev. The head of state noted that today Russia is attacking rockets and drones of Ukrainian ports and other infrastructure.

According to the President, it is necessary to provide air protection of all Ukrainian cities, especially those that provide the military, through which the main logistics corridors are underway, which concentrate strategic infrastructure, nuclear facilities. Volodymyr Zelensky is convinced that the protection of Ukraine's port infrastructure can provide systems such as SAMP-T and Patriot. They can be provided by the relevant states.

“I agreed with Emmanuel Macron and George Meloni, there is SAMP-T systems. They work great. If we had additional systems, they would protect the infrastructure of Odessa, and not just port. Or it's Patriot, ”he said.
