The exchamber of DFS Nasirov went to the Armed Forces in front of the debates in court - Transparency International

To spread: Former head of the State Fiscal Service Roman Nasirov mobilized to the Armed Forces of Ukraine before the court debates in the case of gas schemes of ex-People's Deputy Alexander Onishchenko. The Transparency International NGO reported that Nasirov's lawyers are asking to stop the case. Nasirov did not arrive at a meeting of the Supreme Anti -Corruption Court of Ukraine on April 9. The defense noted that he voluntarily went into the army and therefore could not be present.

The prosecutor objected to the suspension of the proceedings, as Nasirov should first be summoned. In addition, he can participate in meetings remotely, indicated in the organization. The court eventually postponed the consideration of this issue to gather information. The next meeting will take place on April 11. In May 2024, the Verkhovna Rada allowed him to be released from serving his sentence in exchange for contracting a contract service in the Armed Forces.

However, the fire corruption officers do not have this right, public workers emphasized. Ukrainian journalist Oleg Novikov, who specializes in the coverage of NABU's activities, said that Nasirov went to serve in the army during the court debates in the case of abuse related to the gas schemes of former MP Alexander Onishchenko. The latter was tried in Ukraine for stealing more than UAH 740 million from the budget obtained during the production and sale of natural gas.

The deputy was awarded 15 years in prison with confiscation of property, but was not punished because he escaped from the country. According to Novikov, Nasirov went to the Armed Forces in fact on the eve of the final sentence. Also on April 10, the court should consider the continuation of the duties assigned to Nasirov. "It is still unknown whether Nasirov will be present on it, but today in the gas case postponed.
