Disruptions with fuel in the Russian Federation: Ukrainian strikes on refineries change the life of Russians - WP

To spread: Ukraine has intensified blows to Russian oil refineries, and new attacks are already making a noticeable blow to the country's economy. According to experts, almost 40% of Russian refineries are now idle, and the main reason is the attacks of Ukrainian drones, which cause up to 70% of stops. Scheduled repairs at some factories had to be postponed to at least partially maintain production. About it reports WP. Ordinary consumers also experience the consequences.

The fuel deficiency in Russia is approximately 20% of the monthly demand for gasoline, which is about 400,000 tons of two million, which are commonly consumed. Already, one of 50 gas stations stopped selling gasoline, and national production fell by about 10%. Economically powerful and energy resource Russia, which is accustomed to exporting oil, is now forced to import petroleum products, especially gasoline.

Since July, the country has increased the purchase of fuel in Belarus by 36% compared to last year, and in September imports increased by almost 170% relative to the previous month. However, these volumes are still not enough to cover domestic demand. Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak proposed to expand gasoline imports, in particular from China, South Korea and Singapore, as well as to cancel the relevant duties.

In addition, the Russian authorities are considering the use of various chemical additives, including ethanol and monomethylaniline - a substance prohibited ten years ago. To reduce the load on the domestic market, the government continued its ban on export of gasoline and diesel by the end of the year. The most severe supplies are felt in the Crimea and in a number of regions of the country.
