For the sake of Poland's security: Navrotsky is ready to sit at the negotiating table with Putin
According to WP Wiadomości, Navrotsky explained that he would not have been a good negotiation with the Russian President for personal beliefs and historical differences. He openly called Putin a dictator and murderer and noted that his own anti -communist views and past persecution by the Kremlin complicate the possibility of constructive dialogue. The President of Poland emphasized that even in such difficult circumstances, he is ready to act solely in the interests of his country.
"Sometimes even generals and commanders of armies who are responsible for the death of soldiers and peaceful people are forced to sit at the same table. I am ready to do whatever is necessary for the safety of Poland, but it is necessary to admit honestly: I would not be the best negotiator because of my experience and belief," Navrotsky said.
He also noted that Donald Trump is the only real figure in the world capable of negotiating with Putin and urged to support any of his actions in this direction. "The direction of these negotiations, selected tools is Trump's decision. We have to support him, but at the same time to hope for the most rigid position on the Russian Federation," - explained the President of Poland. Navrotsky also told about personal relationships with Trump.
He noted that friendship has been formed for years and decades, but there are already "friendly relations" between them, which, in his opinion, have a positive impact on the international position of Poland. "We maintain regular contact, communicated by phone and during other negotiations for more than a month. It helps to confidently evaluate real threats and understand the nature of what is happening as a result of Russian attacks," he emphasized.
The publication also notes that during the presidential campaign in February, Navrotsky declared his willingness to negotiate with Putin, even if he would have a disgusting. He explained that history has repeatedly demonstrated the need to communicate with people responsible for large -scale crimes, and the task of the politician is to protect the national interests of his country, even in the most difficult situations.
"As a historian, I understand that sometimes they have to negotiate with those who cause death, destruction and suffering. The main thing is to act in the interests of their country," he added. Recall that the President of Poland Karol Navrotsky advocated the prohibition of the "Bandera symbol" and equating it to the symbols of Nazism. Focus also wrote that Navrotsky declared his intention to participate in the joint use of nuclear weapons.
