More than 4,500 cars: OSINT researchers have calculated the number of tanks in the Russian Federation (photo)

Analysts found 4450-4650 tanks at Russian storage bases and near the workshops of repair plants. This will last at least a year of fighting with losses of about 90 cars monthly. Russia removes 44-75 tanks from storage every month. As of 2024, at least 4,500 tanks are stored in the enemy. This became known from the joint project of the platforms Mortis Aeterna, Resurgam and "Military Vishchun".

Researchers analyzed the number of tanks that have the enemy, the average pace of exhaustion and the pace of reconciliation. 95% of the databases in the Russian Federation were investigated. On the central bases of the tank reserve, 3150 tanks were found, another 1300-1500 cars stand on the waiting platforms and near the shops of armored repair plants. The average pace of tanks is 44-75 units per month. According to analysts, this is enough to cover current losses.

There is evidence that it is a ceiling for Russian factories. They can not restore, modernize or produce tanks. They rest in the chronic lack of working staff, increased equipment wear and deficiency of western components through sanctions. The authors emphasize that the calculations were as conservative as possible and covered everything that can be restored hypothetically. The technical condition of 3150 tanks at the reserve base is often doubtful.
