"I will talk to Putin": Macron believes that there should be "security guarantees" in Europe in Europe

According to the President of France, the decision to negotiate between Russia and Ukraine should be made by Kyiv. French President Emmanuel Macron believes that Russia should have a "guarantee" in the future security structure in Europe. He stated this in an interview with the French TF1. He stressed that Moscow should have its own "security guarantees" when she returns to the negotiation table.

At the same time, the President of France is convinced that the decision to negotiate between Russia and Ukraine should be made by Kyiv. "Do you think that when we have been tested with Alsace and Lorraine, we would like the world leader to tell us one or another? So and here - is it to decide the Ukrainian people on our own, not us, to decide on which conditions, how and when [negotiate with the Russian Federation], "Macron commented.

He stressed that he discussed this issue during his visit to the United States and meetings with President Joe Biden. They agreed that the event should continue to help Ukraine withstand Russian aggression, but at the same time try to plant Moscow at the negotiation table. At the same time, the head of France stated that he intends to talk to Vladimir Putin. He declared the need for such a conversation after negotiation with the chairman of the IAEA Rafael Grossi.

The theme of the conversation will be the safety zone around the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant. "I will talk to President Putin again after my meeting with the CEO of the Agency [Raphael Grossi]," Macron said. Commenting on the future conversations of French President Emmanuel Macron and Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Kremlin Prescribe Dmitry Peskov said that a specific date has not yet been appointed.

Recall that the agreement between Ukraine and the Russian Federation provides for the withdrawal of weapons from the ZPP. According to Raphael Grossi, the Ukrainian side insists that Russian troops remove all weapons from the territory of Zaporizhzhya NPP, and the IAEA supports these requirements. The Russian side is not against such a condition and allegedly asks anything in return.
