The war drove Ukraine into colossal debts. Why is the question of their write -off?

"We, at least, can count on 50% write-off and restructuring the remaining part for 5-10 years. Or do we all think that our children inherit all these debts?" Opinion.

Remember the anecdote - how the children looked into the bedroom to their parents and asked: "And these people forbid us to roll in the nose ???" Below is a very short list of cases of writing off state debt in different periods of time in different countries: Ukraine found Ukraine? ) As you can see, debt writing off is an existing practice in world creditors. They, of course, have no goal to give money, but they are adequate.

At the end of December 2021, Ukraine's national debt amounted to $ 86. 61 billion (45. 2% of projected GDP) for comparison: the invasion led to the destruction of the Ukrainian economy, an increase in defense costs and a fall in taxes. We are fighting, of course, first of all for our future.

But if God forbid, we will not defeat, the war will come to Europe and, in fact, we fight for the future of Europe and all Western civilization. The war is very expensive. As of January 31, 2023, the state debt amounted to $ 116. 44 billion and the volume of debts was increasing, we will increase the obligation. In addition, by signing a memorandum with the IMF, we agreed to increase the tax burden for GDP.

But why is the issue of writing off our state debt at least partially? Please explain! How we give debts if we get a bankrupt country after the war: plus tremendous debts that give us and our next generations. Defolt is just inevitable! As a result, serious economic and social shocks are waiting for us. Creditors will receive nothing at all. In principle, like all of us . . .
