Further to Tomahawk and Storm Shadow: What weapon is Flamingo's missile similar to and which has analogues (video)

To spread: Flamingo rocket has a swing of the wings six meters and flies almost twice as much as the American Tomahawk rocket, while having almost the same speed. The network has found photos of other means of damage, somewhat similar to a new Ukrainian rocket, which probably went to mass production. Two companies, Milan Group of the United Arab Emirates and Fire Point from Ukraine, are mentioned in the context of the new flamingo missile forces of Ukraine.

In the video from the IDEX 2025 exhibition, Arabic weapons showed a FP-5 rocket, very similar to that image of which was demonstrated by a Ukrainian photojournalist. Focus gathered information about the characteristics of this means of lesion and compared them with analogues from the weapons of the West and Ukraine. The FP-5 rocket technical characteristics were given on the Defense Express portal, and information about Tomahawk and Storm Shadow on the CSIS and Global Security analytical portal.

Comparing the characteristics, we see that the Ukrainian-Arab analogue has better characteristics. Comparison of two means of lesions: The characteristics show that the Flamingo missile flies twice as far away from Tomahawk and three times the Storm Shadow. At the same time, the speed of the new Ukrainian means of the defeat is the same as that of Western counterparts.

At the same time, the rocket has twice as heavier combat part and has a total weight, four times larger than Tomahawk and Storm Shadow. The FP-5 missile, which was called "flamingo", was specified on the Defense Talks portal. It is indicated that these are the means of lesion of ground base, which are killed for fixed purposes, effectively work in the conditions of radio interruption and provide "unsurpassed possibilities of impact at a long distance".

Meanwhile, the Telegram channel in the Factum showed a map of the Russian Federation and the radius of damage to the FP-5 rocket "Flamingo". The map demonstrates that the new rocket is probably far beyond the limits of the Ural Mountains: it will fly to the Elabuga, where the Shakhaned Workshops are located, as well as to Omsk and Tyumen.

The B-Tech and Osinter portal also paid attention to the fact that the Flamingo missile is somewhat similar to the Ukrainian drone Tu-141 "Strizh" and the Tu-143 flight drone. Photo from open sources show that there is a certain similarity, but there is a significant difference in capabilities. Focus wrote about the peculiarities of these means of damage in the context of blows in the refinery of the Russian Federation and for other military purposes.

In particular, Tu-141 "Strizh", after processing and installation of additional fuel tanks, was able to get 1000 km away and hit the Kaluga refinery, and Tu-143 "Flight"-a light version of Tu-141, whose fragments were noticed in the field in the Bryansk region (within 300-400 km). The Ukrainian command has not yet confirmed the existence of a flamingo missile, which was told by a photojournalist AP.

It should be noted that on the evening of August 17, a photo of Flamingo missiles appeared on Facebook, which is suggested by the Ukrainian company. The author of the post, journalist AP, assured that the rocket flies at a distance of 3,000 km and is able to carry a warhead of 1 ton. The Defense Express portal noticed a similarity with the FP-5 missile, which was shown by the UAE company at the Armed Forces in February 2025.
