The Russian Federation was not invited: peace talks about Ukraine will be held in Saudi Arabia - WSJ
Negotiations on the end of the war in Ukraine should take place next week, August 5 and 6 in Jedda on the Red Sea. Representatives of the Russian Federation decided not to invite to the discussion. The purpose of the meeting of 30 states is to attract a global south to the peaceful settlement of the country, where the Kremlin is able to succeed in the information war. This will be a continuation of the meeting in the capital of Denmark Copenhagen, which took place in June.
At that time, representatives of Brazil, India, Turkey and the South African Republic took part in the negotiations. Representatives of the following countries were invited to Saudi Arabia this time: Indonesia, Egypt, Mexico, Chile and Zambia. They also confirmed their participation in the United Kingdom, South Africa, Poland and the European Union. It is likely that the meeting will be attended by the President of the United States of America on national security Jake Sullivan.
Saudi Arabia was chosen not just as journalists noted in their material. It is an attempt to involve China in negotiations, because in Denmark representatives of this country did not appear. In Ukraine and in the west, such meetings will allow by the end of 2023 to hold a peaceful summit. The world leaders will be able to sign the general principles of the end of the war, which will only strengthen the position of Kiev in the event of negotiations with Moscow.
