"Continues to move": Blinken spoke about an attempt at a military coup in the Russian Federation

The US Secretary of State believes that the unsuccessful military rebellion of Yevgeny Prigogine has led to the emergence of "very serious cracks". In his opinion, this is not the last act. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken believes that Yevgeny Prigogine's military rebellion may not be the last incident in the Russian Federation. He said this on the air of the ABC TV channel on June 25.

"It's still a moving picture, and I doubt that we have seen the last act and I also don't want to make assumptions because it is something that continues to move," the official said. According to Blinken, as a result of the attempt of the military coup, Yevgeny Prigogine appeared "very serious cracks". He noted that it was probably not a final act. The US Secretary of State also pointed out that the identity of Russian society may complicate the maintenance of an aggressive war against Ukraine.

At the same time, he expressed anxiety in instability in such a large country as Russia. According to Blinken, during the mentioned events, the representatives of the administration Joe Baiden contacted Russian colleagues in order to ensure the safety of US citizens in the Russian Federation. At the same time, the US President did not contact Vladimir Putin.

According to the Secretary of State, everything he tried to prevent Putin was accelerated, and the position of the President of the Russian Federation in the world fell sharply. The official also stressed that the US is still focused on helping Ukraine.

It should be reminded that, according to the adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Mikhail Podolyak, events in the territory of the Russian Federation once again prove the correctness of the decision not to negotiate with the Kremlin. For his part, British General Lord Richard Dunnat said that the head of the Wagner PEC can lead an attack on Kiev from Belarus. He noted that the very fact of moving Putin's "cook" to Belarus causes serious concern.
