Special Mission: Russian Tu-142 flew 15 hours to set up a firearm
According to Bulgarian Military Viewers on June 30, the planes were performed by a special task associated with the calibration of a new exaggeration radar installed under Nizhny Novgorod. It is noted that the Tu-142MC mission lasted 15 hours, with the aircraft covering a distance of 10,000 km from the Gulf of Biscay to the North Atlantic. Russian cars flew to Kipylovo and were sent for calibration of the extinguished radar.
At the same time, in addition to Tu-142, Russian Tu-95 bombers were spotted near the coast of Alaska. One of them entered the air defense identification zone and stayed there for about four hours. In response, the US and Canada raised the F-22A Raptors and CF-18 fighter to intercepts and support Russian bombers. The authors of the material noted that the calibration of the exacerbated radars is not a combat mission, but a practical or test.
The fact is that the aircraft of marine intelligence and anti-theorative defense of the Tu-142MC plays a major role in the flights in calibration of the exacerbation of the radars. They are equipped with modern sensors and electronic systems that allow you to identify and track overwater and underwater. The main purpose of calibration flights is to accurately adjust the radar systems to obtain accurate and reliable data.
By performing flights on different scenarios, Tu-142MC helps specialists to understand how the radar works in real conditions, so calibration flights are carefully planned taking into account different environmental conditions and heights. The information obtained during these flights is used to adjust the parameters of the radar and training of operators and radar analysts.
