According to journalists, Russia wants to maintain ties with Israel and Hamas, as well as increase its influence in the Middle East, playing the role of a peacekeeper. The publication writes that Moscow has also tried to present hostilities in Israel as a failure of US policy. The Kremlin's leadership hopes that these events will turn the United States from the invasion of the Russian army into Ukraine.
Journalists noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the cause of the war lies in the inability to create a Palestinian state in accordance with the UN resolutions. In his opinion, it is "rude injustice. " The material states that Putin's calls to both parties do not attack civilians that Moscow is trying to maintain a balanced approach and negotiate with both Jerusalem and terrorists.
The publication noted that Vladimir Putin, when he came to power, decided to restore ties with the Middle East, which weakened heavily after the collapse of the Soviet Union. The Russian Federation even joined the peacekeepers: the US, the EU and the UN. However, Moscow has played a much less significant role in the efforts to keep peace in the region when compared to Washington.
