Investigators specify that the suspect is a representative of the Kharkiv Branch of the Party of Regions. It was from this political force that he was elected to the Ukrainian Parliament five times.

According to the investigation, with the beginning of a full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation, Svyatosh was supported by the occupiers and justified the seizure of part of the southern and eastern regions of the country. He called on residents of temporarily occupied territories of Kherson, Zaporizhzhya and Kharkiv regions to support the Russian military and make passports of the Russian Federation.

According to special services, Dmitry Svyatash fled to Russia to avoid justice. On the basis of the evidence collected, it takes place in the case of encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine - Part 1 of Art. 110 of the Criminal Code.

Earlier, Svyatosh was reported suspected of illegal alienation of more than 200 real estate and corporate rights of three Ukrainian companies. According to the materials of the SBU, in August 2022, his assets in the amount of UAH 600 million were arrested. In the future, they were transferred to the National Agency for Detection, Investigation and Management of Assets received from corruption and other crimes (ARMA).
