The President and the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew discussed ways to reach peace and further development of the church in Ukraine

President Vladimir Zelensky and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew was held at the UN's permanent representation of Ukraine at the UN.   The Head of State thanked for the support, solidarity and constant prayers for Ukraine and all Ukrainians. The President separately noted the efforts that his priestly holy is made to advocate the interests of Ukraine. During the meeting, they discussed the destructive influence of the Russian Church and the importance of combating it.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed about the protection of religious freedom in Ukraine. He noted that there are no religious oppression in our country. But at the same time, there should be no contact with the aggressor state. The parties discussed the further development of the church in Ukraine. The Ecumenical Patriarch assured the support of Constantinople. Separately referred to a situation in diplomacy. His holy told about his meeting with US President Donald Trump.

Volodymyr Zelensky shared the details of cooperation with the American team. In particular, during the meeting they spoke about ways to achieve real peace. The Head of State expressed his gratitude for the strong words of the Ecumenical Patriarch during a speech at a meeting of the International Relations Council in New York on September 19. His holy called Russia against Ukraine illegal and condemned the actions of the ROC, which blessed the murder of Ukrainians.
