The neighborhood of the posterior refinery in the Krasnodar region with the anti-aircraft brigade, which should be in service with the complexes "Buk-M2" and the latest "Buk-M3", did not save the company from strokes, analysts said. One of the key goals of the attack was the poster refining plant in the Krasnodar region, which stands close to the point of permanent dislocation of the 90th anti-aircraft missile brigade of the Russian Federation. The 90th anti-aircraft missile brigade has modern Buk-M2 complexes, and since 2020 she began to receive the latest Buk-M3. However, the current state of this brigade, as well as the real number and combat capability of these SPRs in 2025, remain unknown. The poster refinery has a projected capacity of 6. 25 million tons of oil per year and plays a strategic role in the supply of fuel of Russian troops.

According to the Center for Combating Misinformation at NSDC, it is one of the most important objects of fuel infrastructure of the Russian Federation, which exceeds many other oil refineries in importance. At the same time, the exact degree of damage to the NPP is still unknown. The Russian air defense forces could not protect the enterprise.
