Five countries ask the European Commission to introduce a ban on imports of Russian and Belarusian grain

The authors of the appeal emphasize the need for new measures to restrict access to goods from the Russian Federation to the EU. The heads of the Czech Republic of Agriculture, Poland, Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia have called on the European Commission to impose a ban on imports to the EU of Russian and Belarusian grain. This is discussed in the press service of the Lithuanian Ministry of Agriculture.

The authors of the appeal to the European Commissioners, whose initiative is Lithuania, is also considered necessary to promote the cooperation of EU Member States to effectively implement this restriction throughout the European Union. The heads of the ministries pointed to the importance of implementing measures that should not allow the grain to be stolen from Ukraine.

The Minister of Agriculture, Kiastuzis, forever considers insufficient sanctions that the EU has introduced against Russia, so new decisions should be made that would limit access to Russian goods into the European market. "We urge the European Union to analyze on the possible introduction of imports to the European Union of Russian and Belarusian foodstuffs. The joint appeal of four countries is aimed at solving the urgent problem that unites us," the minister stressed.
