Shooting by the Russians of two Ukrainian prisoners: the Prosecutor General's office began investigation

The prosecutor's office states that the tragedy happened in the area of ​​the village of Stepovo, Pokrovsky district, Donetsk region. The Ukrainian law enforcement agencies began investigating the case of the execution of two Ukrainian servicemen in Donetsk region, committed by Russian invaders. The prosecutor's office states that the incident occurred near the settlement of Stepovo in the Pokrovsky district of Donetsk region.

Under the procedural leadership of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, an investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) was initiated. It is noted that the murder of prisoners of war is a gross violation of the Geneva conventions and qualifies as a serious international crime.

We will remind that on December 2 on the network there was a video where two Ukrainian soldiers were captured. A group of Russian invaders shot unarmed military personnel of the Armed Forces. It happened in the Avdeevsky direction. The human rights Ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets stated that this incident is a violation of international law and act of terrorism. He expressed his intention to contact the International Committee of the Red Cross and the United Nations.
