Zelensky still prefers to treat guillotine headache: whether a pause is required for war and a change of power

A pause in the war is needed - because without a pause, a change in power in the country is possible only in a catastrophic scenario that can bury Ukrainian statehood, a political expert Gennady Druzenko is convinced. And without changing the authorities, there will be no radical reforms that some are able to unlock Ukraine in the future. At stretch, Volodymyr Zelenskyy is a cornerstone today, which embodies Ukrainian statehood in the eyes of most Ukrainians.

More than 50% of citizens' trust in the sixth year of the presidency (according to the latest study "Razumkov Center") is a fantastic result that Vladimir Alexandrovich's predecessors could only dream of. This means that the current guarantor in the eyes of at least half of Ukrainians has become a symbol of preserving Ukrainian statehood during the war. Which is not, but with its own, albeit with disabled prosecutors, Msekiv heads of millionaires, self-burrowing commanders and more.

Obviously, Ukrainians are convinced that horses are not changed at the crossing, as well as the Verkhovna head during the war. According to fate, the war turned the President, whom the people chose in the hope of radical changes and dismantling of the inefficient post -Soviet system, to the president - the guardian of this system. And her hostage at the same time. The request for radical reforms, the peaceful revolution and the dramatic change of the system is postponed until the end of the war.

But the tragedy is that without the radical reform of the state - at the level of philosophy, constitutional architecture and the principles of interaction of power and society - we do not win this war. Indeed, the existential dilemma that Ukraine has appeared - change or die. In a short war, which lasts for months, it is possible to postpone radical reforms to peaceful times. In the face of a long war for exhaustion, it is a path to defeat.

Yes, external support can still keep Ukrainian statehood afloat. As the patient is kept on the apparatus of artificial lung ventilation. But it is possible to survive for some time, but it is impossible to live . . . The decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) on the MSECs and prosecutors again confirmed: the President still thinks electorally, not state-owned. Applause from the hall is still more important than the efficiency of the system.

He still prefers to treat the guillotine headache. He still perceives the world as an artist, not as a construction state. And that is why I repeat every now and then that we need a pause in the war. Because without a pause, change of power in the country is possible only in a catastrophic scenario that can bury Ukrainian statehood. And without changing the authorities, there will be no radical reforms that some are able to unlock Ukraine in the future. "Which is not that his" no longer works . . .
