Such an assignment was given by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a meeting with civil society representatives, the President of Ukraine (OP) reported.

The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution that approves the procedure for the creation and functioning of the centers, as well as the requirements for their activities. Territorial defense forces will soon approve the training program. The instructors will be first and foremost veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war. The heads of the centers will elect the regional councils on the submission of military administrations.

According to the deputy head of OP Irina Vereshchuk, the preparation of civilians to counteract Russia is an integral part of Ukraine's defense capability and one of the factors of restraint of the enemy. "It is also one of the drivers of stability and cohesion of society," the official said. It should be noted that the plans for preparation for the creation of such centers were announced in February this year.

At that time, OP said that it is especially important to prepare the population for resistance in the border with the Russian Federation. "The first and most important stage is the preparation of enough instructors. Here we will look at veterans and volunteers as a source of good personnel," said Vereshchuk.
