Russia is going to get out of the grain corridor agreement in the Black Sea - Reuters
In an interview with the Russian Ambassador to the UN, Gennady Gatilov stated that on the eve of Moscow she sent a letter to the General Secretary General of the UN Guterrash with the complaints stated. Next Sunday, UN representatives will come to Moscow, where they will discuss further continuation of the grain agreement. Gatilov explained that if nothing for the Russian side has changed about exports of Russian grain and fertilizers, the agreement will have to be revised.
The Russian did not provide a copy of the letter to journalists, and the UN representative did not respond to the comment request. Asked if Russia could leave the agreement because of the difficulties mentioned, he replied that such a probability was. "We are not against the supply of grain, but this agreement must be equal, fair and honestly fulfilled by all parties," Gatilov explained.
Gennady Gatilov, who had previously held the post of deputy head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, believes that there is little hope for settlement through peace talks after a nearly eight -month war in Ukraine. He also mentioned the recent explosion on the Crimean bridge.
The July Agreement on the Grain Corridor, in which the mediators were the UN and Turkey, allowed Ukraine to restore the export of grain from its ports in the Black Sea, which were closed after the large -scale invasion of Russian troops. In turn, Moscow was provided with guarantees for exports of its own grain and fertilizers. This agreement has helped to avoid the global food crisis, since Russia and Ukraine are the two world's largest grain exporters.
The Russian Federation is also considered the world's largest fertilizer supplier. Representatives of the Russian Federation have repeatedly expressed complaints that they still have difficulty in selling fertilizers and food. It should be reminded that the UN Secretary General Guterres is trying to put pressure on Ukraine to appeal to Putin with a "ammonia agreement. " Earlier, the focus understood how many grains were taken out by agrarians from Ukraine.
