Increasing mobilization - not a way out: in ISW told how to increase the combat capability of the Armed Forces
The report of April 10 states that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine allowed the mobilization of prisoners, and made amendments to the Criminal Code, which strengthened punishment for evasion of service in the army. According to analysts, the law on demobilization was also excluded from the bill. According to Dmitry Lazutkin, a representative of the Ministry of Defense, officials will consider the completion of the military service of individuals and rotation of servicemen in a separate bill.
Experts noted that mobilization will help Ukraine to restore and reproduce existing units, as well as to create new ones, to rotate troops. However, the ISW believes that the technique provided by the event continues to remain the most important factor for the ability of Ukraine's defense forces to increase its fighting power. It should be noted that on the night of April 11, the Council graduated from the rejected amendments to the mobilization bill.
According to the People's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak, most of the more than four thousand Verkhovna Rada rejected, as there were not enough votes of the people's deputies, since 30 parliamentarians remained in the hall at the end of the meeting. We will remind, the council was offered to send Ukrainians to the basic military service instead of the term.
