The embargo removes all the claims: the Ukrainian government has banned exports to Russia

Trade with the aggressor country has virtually nullified without the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers, but now Ukrainian companies have a legal justification for non-compliance with contracts concluded with the Russians. On September 27, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a resolution "On a ban on the export of goods from Ukraine into the customs territory of the Russian Federation", the Ministry of Economy press service reports.

The resolution applies to all goods that were supplied to Russia under foreign economic contracts and will act until the end of the war. "We continue the sanction pressure against Russia. This resolution is another of many economic influence instruments. We understand that sanctions are not only a reaction to a military threat, but also to prevent aggression in the future," the first viceremier-minister of Ukraine emphasized - Minister of Economy Yulia Sviridenko.

According to her, the adoption of the resolution only enshrines in the legal field the state of affairs, because after the February invasion of exports of goods to the Russian Federation actually stopped. The Ministry of Economy believes that government decisions will not have negative economic consequences. Statistics indicate that from March to June 2022, Ukrainian goods were exported to the territory of Russia by only $ 4. 2 million: $ 4. 189 million from ferrous metals and $ 57.

2 thousand for chemical products. Prior to the escalation of the war, trade with the Russians was much more lively: in January 2022, Ukrainian companies exported goods to the Russian Federation for a total amount of $ 250 million. Another positive consequence of the decree is the legal clarity in the issue of non -fulfillment of contracts by Ukrainian companies that had obligations to the Russians. The embargo on export removes all claims.

We will remind, recently President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky introduced sanctions against 606 Russian officials. Restrictions provide for freezing assets, a ban on entry, privatization, ownership of property, prohibition of withdrawal of capital, suspension of fulfillment of economic and financial liabilities and many more for 10 years. Now the EU is being reflected in a new package of anti -Russian sanctions.
