The UK Ministry of Defense, citing intelligence data, reported that the Russian Federation was building a railway in the occupied territories of Ukraine. MO British notes that earlier, March 18, Vladimir Putin declared the construction of a railway branch from Russian Rostov-on-Don to temporarily occupied Crimea through the captured territories of Ukraine. He said that the first plot of the railway would allegedly restore access to the city of Berdyansk, this new line should eventually reach Sevastopol and is intended to ensure the duplication of the Kerch Bridge.

According to intelligence, the railway passes through an area that is vulnerable to Ukrainian high -precision shock systems. "A railway branch south of Donetsk was almost 60 km long. It is almost certainly one of the largest infrastructure projections that Russia made in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, and restores railway connection, which was interrupted through hostilities outside Donetsk," noted in the department.

British intelligence experts believe that one of the goals of the Russian Federation will be maintaining activity in Mariupol.
