Fuel crisis in Russia is increasing: gasoline prices are rising, new limits are introduced at gas station

To spread: in different regions of Russia, restrictions for the sale of fuel are increased. After the occupied Crimea and Chelyabinsk region, limits began to operate in Tyumen as well as the Sverdlovsk regions. In recent months, the Russian fuel industry has been faced with serious problems due to the attacks of Ukrainian drones on oil refineries. Focus studied the situation in the Russian fuel market.

Objects on the territory of poster, Volgograd, Ilsky, Novokubyshevsky, Novoshakhtyn, Ryazan, Samarsky, Saratov, Slavyansk, Sizran and Ukhtyn Refinery were shot, as well as, probably, several more thanks were affected. These are almost half of all oil refining enterprises, DW writes. In August, the volume of available gasoline production decreased by 6% compared to July, and in September the fall reached 18%. Diesel fuel production decreased by 7% in August and 20% in September.

Two -thirds, this reduction is associated with drones. The fuel market representative, according to the source, confirms these figures. According to him, gasoline deficiency in September was about 400 thousand tons with standard monthly deliveries of 2 million tons.

The situation is concerned about experts: reducing the power of refinery and limited supply of fuel can significantly affect the market in the coming months, and the restoration of the factories will take time and considerable resources. In Tyumen, the H-1 gas station has limited the release of gasoline "in one hand"-no more than 30 liters AI-92 or AI-95 at a time. The company explained that the event has been introduced since October 7, it is aimed at combating the bought of fuel with canisters.

At the same time, H-1 representatives claim that there is no deficit. Similar restrictions also work at TPK gas stations, where now the AI-95 gasoline is only released on fuel cards. About it reports the edition of The Moscow Times. Residents of Sverdlovsk region report a similar situation. At the Lukoil gasoline, the canisters stopped releasing gasoline, and there is no gasoline at the "tower" at all - there was only a diesel.

At Tamic Energy and Varta stations, motorists can pour no more than 30 liters of fuel. Although the regional government officially denies the presence of a deficit, local drivers record queues and offsets. Meanwhile, in the Novosibirsk region, the Prime gas station network has suspended the sale of AI-92 gasoline due to the cessation of shipments from refineries. This caused a rapid increase in prices: in just two days the cost of a liter AI-92 at Tatneft gas stations increased from 59. 5 to 62.

5 rubles. Previously, such restrictions appeared in other regions. In the Chelyabinsk region, limits for the sale of fuel were introduced after reports of a deficit caused by attacks of Ukrainian drones on Russian oil refineries. From October 3, Tamic Energy gas stations are released no more than 30 liters of gasoline and 70 liters of diesel per day. In Crimea, the limit is even tougher - no more than 20 liters of gasoline per car.

In Russia, the fuel crisis is ongoing, and the authorities do not yet have the expected effect. Initially, the embargo on fuel removal from the country was valid until August 31, but later continued - now the ban is valid until the end of 2025, writes DW. According to the source, the Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak proposed the government to discharge duties on the import of fuel from China, South Korea and Singapore to diversify deliveries.

Another initiative is to allow manufacturers to use monomethylaniline, additive that increases the octane number and allows to produce gasoline from low quality raw materials. Earlier, since 2016, its use has been prohibited in Russia as part of European environmental emissions. However, experts doubt that these measures will be able to stabilize the situation if the drones of drones on oil refineries continue.

In September, exports of gasoline from Belarus to the railroad increased in comparison with August. The increase in deliveries is associated with fuel deficiency in the Russian Federation caused by the blows of Ukrainian drones on the country's energy infrastructure, Reuters reports. In several Russian regions, in recent weeks, you had to introduce normalization and temporarily freeze prices for popular gasoline species.

At the same time, Moscow limited exports of gasoline and diesel fuel, as well as increased the purchase of fuel in Belarus to compensate for the deficit. According to the agency, in September the supply of gasoline from Belarusian refineries to the Russian domestic market reached 40 thousand tons, which is equivalent to about 14. 5 thousand barrels a day. Diesel fuel was delivered about 33 thousand tons.

At the same time, the transit of Belarusian gasoline through Russian ports for further exports increased by only 1% and amounted to 140 thousand tons. Belarus has used Russian ports to overload its petroleum products since March 2021 as part of a cooperation agreement with Moscow. Reuters notes that from January to September, the volume of such overloads decreased by almost 40% in annual terms to 1. 17 million tonnes due to the decrease in oil processing.

The two largest Belarusian refineries - Naftan and Mozir - have a projected capacity of 12 million tons per year each, but actually process about 9 million tons annually. We will remind, regular blows of Ukrainian UAVs on oil and gas facilities in Russia deprives it of the main source of financing of war. Forbes wrote that through this society in the Russian Federation could be destabilized as on the eve of the February Revolution of 1917.
