The department's press service noted that the largest amount of enemy armored vehicles was destroyed during active fighting in Donetsk and Kharkiv regions. Since the beginning of the Russian full -scale invasion, the Security Service of Ukraine has destroyed 1006 Russian tanks. This is discussed in the press service of the department.

In particular, it is known that the occupiers, using heavy armored vehicles, often tried to break through the positions of the Armed Forces to ensure the cover of the assault groups of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. At the same time, the enemy constantly attracted tank compounds for attacks on the fortifications of defense forces in the Zaporozhye direction.

For the task of defeating Russian armored vehicles, representatives of the Security Service conducted effective operational and combat operations in cooperation with the Armed Forces. The maximum arsenal of armor -piercing and unmanned complexes was used to eliminate enemy tanks. Much of the Russian armored vehicles were affected at the initial boundaries for the offensive - before their storming of Ukrainian positions. Some tanks were destroyed with their crews.

The SBU report also stated that the representatives of the Power Office, together with other units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, plan to reduce the Russian group to approach the victory. On April 9, it was reported that the Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed the Russian T-72 tank, which because of its appearance in the people was called "tank-tank". In addition, on March 29 it became known that fighters from the 53rd separate mechanized brigade.
