In Ukraine, all the assets of Friedman and two other businessmen related to the Russian Federation are arrested - the SBU

According to the department, the court's decision applies to 20 companies that control businessmen. In particular, it is about mineral waters, financial and insurance companies. It was arrested for all corporate rights in Ukraine, which belonged to the sub -businessmen Michael Friedman, Peter Aven and Andriy Koshov. This was reported on Friday, October 5, at the Press Center of the Security Service of Ukraine.

The court's decision affects 20 companies and financial institutions controlled by these businessmen as ultimate beneficiaries or through offshore structures. The total cost of the arrested corporate rights is estimated at over UAH 17 billion. "Thanks to the SBU in Ukraine, all the assets of the three oligarchs of Putin have been arrested for over UAH 17 billion," the SBU's press release.

Among the frozen assets are financial and insurance companies, communications and information technologies, as well as mineral waters. "The seizure of this property will not allow Russian owners to" rewrite "it on false persons in order to avoid further transfer of assets to Ukraine's income," - the press release.

In a comment to Scheme journalists, Mikhail Friedman stated that since February 2022 he stopped participating in the management of both Russian and foreign companies in which he is a shareholder. "At this time, I am deprived of the opportunity to interfere with the activities of these companies. All your appeals and questions should be sent directly to the management of these organizations," the businessman said.

The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine then stated that this information could be the basis for the confiscation of the property of the oligarch in Ukraine. Mikhail Friedman became one of the first Russian oligarchs, included in the European Union sanctions list in February 2022. The basis for the imposition of sanctions is his close ties with Putin's administration and the accumulation of wealth due to his close relations with the Government of the Russian Federation.

Friedman insists on innocence and tries to challenge sanctions in various ways. In Ukraine, its assets are Kyivstar, Meaning Bank (formerly Alfa-Bank) and Morshynska. In July this year, the government nationalized the meaning of the bank, and a year ago the court seized the assets of Morshynska for the amount of UAH 53. 4 million. According to "Economic Truth", Friedman has only one large asset in Ukraine - the mobile operator "Kyivstar".

It should be reminded that in September this year, Michael Friedman was suspected of financing actions aimed at changing the constitutional order of Ukraine and the seizure of state power. Currently, the suspect and his business partners are outside Ukraine. Earlier it was reported that a company owned by Friedman's banker has concluded millions of dollars with Russian state organizations, including auto -start for Rosgvardia and the security of Vladimir Putin.
