You can't leave. Russia has made a "difficult decision": which has agreed with NASA

So far, astronauts are delivered to the International Space Station by SpaceX Space Draw Draw Draw Dragon. To date, one of the few types of cooperation between the United States and Russia, after a full -scale invasion of the latter into Ukraine, has partnerships at the International Space Station (ISS). Until now, NASA astronauts fly into orbit, both on SpaceX spacecraft and on Russian Soyuz's Russian ships. The same thing happens with astronauts from the Russian Federation.

Now it became known that the cooperation in this regard between NASA and Russia will be continued for a while, Space writes. In focus. Technology has appeared its Telegram channel. Subscribe not to miss the latest and most intrusive news from the world of science! According to the Russian Space Agency Roscomomos, an agreement between NASA and the Russian Federation on the joint departure of astronauts in orbit was reached to support the stable work of the ISC.

It became known that US and Russian spacecraft will continue to deliver astronauts from the US and the Russian Federation by at least 2025. There is already a similar agreement, but despite the tense relations between the US and Russia as a war in Ukraine, the joint launches of astronauts will be continued. That is, the agreement was essentially extended. This is done to ensure independent access of astronauts from two countries to their segments of the space station.

The fact is that different MCS segments perform different functions to maintain the stable work of the station in orbit. Therefore, NASA cannot yet refuse to cooperate with the Russian Federation in space. In addition to crews, they deliver supplies and the necessary equipment for both American and Russian freight space ships.

On the other hand, when Starliner from Boeing, NASA will be ready for flights, NASA will probably use it to deliver its astronauts in orbit with the Crew Dragon ship from Ilon Maska. The ISS has existed since 1998 and it was then that the US and Russia partnership began at the station. Although the ISS partners also include European countries, Japan and Canada.

All these countries, with the exception of Russia, agreed to operate the ISS by the end of 2030, after which the station will be launched into the atmosphere where it should burn. In 2022, after the start of a full -scale war against Ukraine, against the background of the sanctions imposed that it would leave the ISS project after 2024. Last year, it became known that the Russian Federation will still remain at the station until 2028.

In Russia, however, they plan to build their own station in orbit closer to the end of this decade. In 2022, Russia entered into an agreement with China aimed at exploring space, including a month. But nothing is known about the further development of this project, because China still reports only its own projects on the moon, as well as the plans of further development of the Tianunun Orbital station.

As for NASA, the Americans have its own monthly program called Artemis ("Artemis"; the name was given in honor of the goddess of ancient Greek mythology, which was the sister of the god Apollo; "Apollo" - so called the past monthly program). In 2020, NASA suggested that the worlds of the world unite in the framework of peaceful development of the moon and space in general. This is how Artemis Agreements appeared, which has been signed by 30 countries in the last 3 years.
