Ukrainians spent more than UAH 300 billion outside Ukraine during the war - NBU (diagram)

According to the National Regulator, from May to December 2022, Ukrainians who went abroad spent UAH 189. 7 billion in cash and another UAH 171. 7 billion was written off from our compatriots' bank cards. During the year of the Russo-Ukrainian War, Ukrainians transferred seven times more money from bank accounts abroad than a year before. This was reported by the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine.

According to the National Finance Regulator, from May to December 2022, the outflow of funds from the accounts of Ukrainians abroad increased. Thus, the number of banks increased the number of card transactions abroad four times during this period. And the amount of money spent in other countries from the card accounts of our citizens increased 7. 3 times. Thus, the number of payments made by Ukrainians outside our country increased from 59. 3 million pieces to 256. 3 million pieces.

In addition, from May to December last year they spent UAH 361. 4 billion abroad. It is about UAH 189. 7 billion. Also, our compatriots spent UAH 171. 7 billion, paying in foreign shops with their bank cards issued by Ukrainian banks. The national regulator specified that most money withdrawal transactions were cash withdrawal in ATMs in other countries. According to the NBU, people in Ukraine and abroad spent 5. 2 billion card transactions in May 2022 for a total amount of UAH 3. 4 trillion.
